Double Your Dough

Excitement on the diamond continues to build up. Four new faces in ex-Blue Eagle Bobbit Atendido, ex-Maroon Ricardo Sanchez, novices JJ Yulo and Simon Villalon are among the 30 guys to take the field last Sunday.

Always a strange game by the numbers. Three games, the losing score being the winning tally of the succeeding game... 12-4, 4-3, 3-0 (the latter apporopriate enough as there wasn't a fourth game played, ho-hum).

Game 1: Atendido, on vacation from the U.S., makes his debut for the Titans - a memorble one for a Titans squad dominated by collegiate players (and Rajah Singh among them) as they rock the former pitcher for eight runs enroute to a 12-4 thumping. 5'4", 120 lb Maynard Ocampo socks a three-run blast and Jeff Rodriguez adds a solo homer in the rout.

Game 2: After losing a shutout and blowing a three-run lead in the last frame, Nesty Leyson drives home Jun Veloso from third with a walk-off texas leaguer to rightcenterfield for a 4-3 win. Joey Carillo also launches a solo shot in the win.

Game 3: In what served as the final (winner wins pooled dough), the game 1 winners scored three unearned runs in the first inning and held to win 3-0 behind the pitchng of Arvin Cirunay while dampening the emotional high from the previous game's victors.

Homerun leaders (thru games of Sep 1)...
2 Jeff Rodriguez
1 Joey Carillo
1 Arvin Cirunay
1 Em Fernandez
1 Maynard Ocampo
1 Arjay Santos
1 Migs Zuluaga
